Contemplating a job change can be both exciting and terrifying at the same time. Where do you start? No really where do YOU start?
Do you dig out your CV?
Pretty much everyone I have ever worked with digs out their CV as their starting point to job change. Personally I think it’s a mistake.
You see the danger of starting with your CV is that you are unlikely to see a job change. What you are likely to see is more of the same but perhaps somewhere else.
Is it a job change you are after? A real change or just the same old crap from different people?
People talk about job change but they rarely mean it. And if your starting point is your CV then it is unlikely to materialise. You need to find a new approach if you genuinely want to enjoy a job change.
